  Preface

The technical specification for non transgenic identity retention (IP) certification is divided into four parts:

  The first part: risk assessment

  The second part: organizational measures

  The third part: physical measures

  The fourth part: management system

The standard is proposed by the China Inspection and Certification Group Quality Certification Limited company.

The drafting unit of the standard: China Inspection and Certification Group Quality Certification Co., Ltd.

  Non GM identity retention

The first part: risk assessment Risk Assessment

  1 Scope and purpose

This specification applies to organizations that certify their products' Non GMO identity. CCIC-CAS, based on this specification, reviews the organizations that apply for non GMO identity maintenance certificates.

The purpose of this specification is to guide the application of non GMO identity certification organizations to establish, execute and maintain IP system, eliminate and control genetically modified ingredients in supply chain, so as to ensure that the products produced are in line with regulatory requirements and consumer needs.

This part of the *IP certification standard specifies the risk assessment of non GM foods and their raw materials, non GM feed and non transgenic seeds and other products, and evaluates whether they meet the requirements of non GMO identity authentication.

REGULATION (EC) No 1829/2003 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL

REGULATION (EC) No 1830/2003 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of concerning the traceability 22 September 2003 and labeling of genetically modified organisms and the traceability of food and feed products produced from genetically modified organisms and amending Directive 2001/18/EC

  3 terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions are applicable to the non - GM identity maintenance specification.

  Three point one

  Transgenic GM (Genetically Modified)

One or more exogenous genes can be transferred to a specific organism (animal, plant and microorganism) by genetic engineering.

  Three point two

Transgenic organisms GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms)

A plant, animal, and microorganism that is introduced into a gene by genetic engineering.

  Three point three

  Non GMOs Non-GMO

Conventional, natural plants, animals, and microbes that do not use genetic engineering technology.

This definition is defined in accordance with the requirements of the EU's latest GM regulations, EC1829/2003 and EC1830/2003.

  Three point four

  Identity keeping Identity Preservation (IP)

IP is a strict production and transportation method that ensures the product has a certain quality through effective internal isolation control system, such as observation, inspection, sampling and testing.

  Three point five

Identity keeping system Identity Preservation (IP) System

The identity maintenance system is a supply chain quality control system that maintains some specific identity of products through control measures such as isolation, inspection, record and traceability in the scope of product supply chain.

  Three point six

  Organization of Organization

The applicant and its controlled supplier (excluding the external supplier).

  Three point seven

Controlled supply chain Controlled Supply Chain

The whole supply chain of production, production, and processing of the product, or the combination of some stages in the supply chain, is covered by the identity maintenance system.

  Three point eight

  Controlled program Controlled Program

The product production management system controlled by the identity maintenance system.

  Three point nine

  Pollution Pollution

A mixture of genetically modified ingredients.

  Three point one zero

  Risk assessment Risk Assessment

Classifying the risk of recognition to determine key points that require key control.

  Three point one one

  Adverse event Adverse Event

Unidentified raw materials are mixed into controlled supply chain, traceable system problems or failures, and other situations that may cause partial or whole identity maintenance system failure.

  Three point one two

  The worst event Worst Case

The controlled supply chain has been severely affected, which may lead to the collapse of the entire identity maintenance system.

  Three point one three

  Traceability Traceability

In the identity maintenance system, we can identify the source, whereabouts, quality and quantity of the raw materials, finished products (including processes), which are built around the controlled supply chain.

  Three point one four

  Limit value Threshold

The highest content of the genetically modified components of controlled products produced in controlled supply chain to meet the requirements of the target market (national or regional) laws and regulations.

  Three point one five

Stay and release point Hold & Release Point

The risk of transgenic pollution is higher in the supply chain. After the entry of the controlled material, the controlled material shall not enter the downstream supply chain until the non - GM identity is not identified. Only after the non transgenic properties of controlled materials have been confirmed, the controlled material can enter the downstream supply chain from this point.

  Three point one six

  DNA

  The abbreviation of deoxyribonucleic acid.

A double helix long chain polymer polymerized from deoxynucleotides. DNA constitutes the genetic material of most organisms.

  Three point one seven

  PCR

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR), an enzyme reaction detected by amplification of a specific DNA sequence in a organism.

  Three point one eight

  ELISA

The abbreviation of protease chain immunoadsorption.

A method for detecting specific proteins in a sample can be detected sensitively. Changes in color by enzyme catalysis
